Well......Hello.......here it is January 20th and this is my first post. Where do the days go. LOLOL I had good intentions, I really did.

I can't believe that 2011 has come and gone. That year went way to fast and so much happened. First.....in November, 2011, I lost my baby brother to cancer. Jeff was 56 years old and a great guy. He had such a rough life and some really hard knocks but the thing I remember most about him was he was always laughing. He left behind a beautiful new granddaughter and grandson he never got to see. He also loved his Pittsburgh Steelers very much and was a die hard fan.

I think about him often and go over in my mind all the things I wish I had said to him. I hope he knows how very much I loved him. I know he is in a better place and I will see him again one day, but there is still a hole in my heart that I don't think will ever close. Love you Jeff.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The story continues.........about 10 days after losing my brother I was involved in a car accident.  Totaled my car.  My first accident.  I was driving along in town and took my eyes off the road for a second and when I looked up.......can you say......hello bumper.  I hit a stopped SUV in front of me.  He was turning.  I was going to swerve into the next lane, but to many cars coming so I had to hit him.  I just started crying.  Then, the driver I hit turned on his "police lights" in the back window of the SUV.  Yepper........I hit a cop.  Oh, I didn't hit just a regular cop, noooo I hit the "head sheriff.  Ahhhhhhhhhhh  I really got hysterical then.  But he was so awesome.  I was crying like a maniac and so shook up he called an ambulance just to get me calmed down.  No one was hurt, thank God.  But my car was totaled, he had just a little bit of damage to his back bumper.  I had the cutest PT Cruiser convertible and I loved it.  The sheriff was so nice and concerned about me he even called me at home the next day to see how I was.  Thank you Ken Grace for being such a caring person.
Sooooooo had to start dealing with insurance companies, etc.  Thank goodness my insurance company is a great one.....USAA.  They got the ball rolling right away and got me a rental car.  They towed my car someplace to see if it was worth fixing or not.  And it wasn't, so they paid me what it was worth and I had to start looking for another car.  Bummer....as my PT Cruiser was paid off.  So after much research and looking I decided on a Hyundai Tuscon Limited.  It has alot of extras and I love it.  Although it hard getting used to a new vehicle, especially when it's bigger than my PT Cruiser.  LOL  But I am getting there.  My friends said I should get a Hummer in case I run into.........no pun intended........any more cops.  LOL
So now I am paranoid about hitting a car and am driving a tad slower than I used to.  Don't want to go through that again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There is good news though..........I got the most awesome Christmas present from my wonderful hubby. Every year he asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I would tell him the same thing....."before I die, I want to see my Pittsburgh Steelers play in Pittsburgh".......and every year I didn't get it. LOL But this year, hubby came through in a big way. He got tickets to see the Steelers play the Rams on Christmas Eve Day in Pittsburgh. Yessssssssssss It was awesome. I cried when I got in the stadium. Couldn't believe I had finally gotten there. Hubby got excellent seats to. We were on the 35 yard line, behind the Steelers bench, about 15 rows up. Can you say..........AWESOME!!!!! It was all I had hoped it would be, and the Steelers won that game. To bad they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. Sniff, sniff. You can see by the picture that I was just about the first one in the stadium. LOLOL

Got to visit with some very dear, dear, friends of the family who are like a mom and dad to me. We caught up on old times, and talked until 1am in the morning for two mornings straight. They took hubby and me around to my old haunts.....my high schoool, place I had lived, etc., and took us to the "hot dog shop". For those of you not from Pittsburgh, you will just have to take my word that they are the best chili hot dogs in the world. LOL When it was time to head back home I didn't want to say goodbye to them. They are two of the nicest, caring and funny people you'll ever run across. I love you Bill and Dee. Thanks for a great time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So now here it is January 20th and I need to get on the ball and start crafting and getting back to a so called "normal" life, whatever that is.  I made a few Valentine's goodies and if you'd like to see them you can go to.....  www.simplyprimitives.com and click on Mustard Moon Primitives.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our weather here in Oklahoma has been so mild this winter. Makes me wonder when the other shoe is going to drop. Today it was 70. Although I like the milder temps, I would like to see at least one snow fall this winter. We need a frost or two to kill those pesky mosquitos and their eggs otherwide, we are all going to get bit up this summer. Yuck. The warm temps lull you into a false sense of security because I want to be outside planting, but not now cause I think Old Man Winter will rear his head at least once this winter.

Well I am off to get into some type of trouble, so until next time......be good to each other and love each other and Prim Blessings.

Happy October 1st

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Drum Roll Please~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sold two batches of my patterns to raise money for our Church's mission trip and the grand total I made was...........$689.00.  That is awesome.  And many thanks to those of you who bought the patterns and big shout out to all the wonderful designers who said it was okay to sell the patterns.  Oh and I even made money off of the "crochety, nasty" pattern designer's one pattern.  LOLOL  No names, but you know who you are.  LOL  This money will definately help our church.  I still have a few patterns left to sell, and will list them soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I can't believe its been awhile since I posted. This year has gone so fast and soon it will be Christmas. Ahhhhhhhhhh I ran to Lowes today to look for some fall plants and they have up all their Christmas trees and decorations. Geez in October. No wonder everyone is sick of Christmas by the time it gets here. We have it in our face for months. But it is still my all time favorite holiday. I just wish we'd all get back to the "Olde Time Christmas" that we used to have. When the emphasis was on spending time together and not how much you could buy for someone or how much you spent. People spend so much time rushing around doing for the holidays that they forget what the holidays are all about. I remember as a kid growing up, my parents never even put up the Christmas tree till we went to bed Christmas Eve. When we got up on Christmas morning....there was a beautiful tree and presents. Now I know why my parents were so tired Christmas morning. LOL We never got much, but it was exciting. We all got PJ's of course and the stocking.....which were usually my dads old socks.....washed of course.....filled with an orange, an apple and some whole walnuts.

Now people have to have designer stockings and fill them with expensive goodies. To much emphasis on the monetary part of Christmas and not the real reason. That is sad. I prefer a Christmas where the gifts are handmade and given with love. Where you bake cookies for days and days and the house smells so yummy. In today's economy maybe we ought to go back to the "good old days". Who can afford Christmas anymore?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a new gal I created and she is available on www.simplyprmitives.com....just look under Mustard Moon Primitives.  I think she turned out pretty cute.  Her name is Lucie and she has a pal... Baby Girl. She is a bear, but relax......she is a kind bear and takes her pal Baby Girl everywhere with her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am trying to get in the mood to start making some Holiday crafts, but it's been hard. Three weeks ago I had dental implants done and it's been a little rough. One implant is giving me the fits and the doc may have to redo it, I hope not. Then a week and a half ago I fell off my shoe. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....yeppers, I fell off my shoe. I had on a pair of wedge sandals and was walking and you know how your foot twists off your shoe every once in awhile......well it happened to me. When my foot slipped off my shoe, I heard a bone snap. I broke a small bone on the left side of my left foot. Owwwweeeeeee. It turned a nice shade of black and blue. So for the past week or so I have been gumming my food and hobbling on my bad foot. Geesch, old age sure isn't any fun. I want to be young again. LOLOL And I refuse to wear those Ruth Buzzy type black old lady shoes. LOL

But now that our weather here in Oklahoma has finally cooled off, maybe I can hit my craft room and craft up a storm. But first I have to clean it and organize it....yeah right. I am open to suggestions. LOLOL My hubby says I could go into the "craft supply" business with all the stuff I have in my little craft room. He's so funny..........NOT.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a yummy recipe you just have to try.  Especially now that it has gotten cooler.  You will love it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Oven Baked Apple Donuts~~~~~~~~~~~~

1/4 cup of lightly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup of white sugar
1 1/2 cups of bite size chunks of apple, peeled and cored
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/3 cup of cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 egg
1/4 cup milk

To Coat Donuts:
1/4 cup fo butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Whisk the flour, baking powder, sugars, salt and nutmeg in a bowl. Add the cold chopped butter. Rub the pieces of butter with the flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a seperate bowl, beat the egg.......mix in the milk and fold in the chopped apples.

Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture. Stir using a spatula making sure not to over mix.

Place a spoonful of batter into each mold of a buttered mini muffin pan.

Bake for 15-18 minutes or until donuts are just golden. Remove from oven and lightly brush each donut with the melted butter. Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl and dunk each donut in the bowl and shake off excess. Enjoy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That will do it for me today.  I am off to try and figure out how to make my craft room nice and neat.  If you don't hear from me for a few days, send in the bloodhounds, I'm in that craft room somewhere.
Prim Blessings
~~~~~Good Saturday To You All~~~~~

I hope you all are having a good weekend. It is till hot here in Oklahoma and the weatherman says another week of temps 105-106 and no rain. Ahhhhh I don't think this is ever gonna end. I am getting used to it now. I just run from air conditioning to air conditiong. LOL

Had to pull some dead plants from my garden. Yepper, they bit the dust. Didn't hardly get any tomatoes at all. Got alot of cucumbers. And so far the herbs are hanging in there. I guess this summer was a bust.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have to share with you two doll makers that I think are absolutely wonderful.  Their work is awesome.  The time and detail they put into their dolls is amazing.  They are truely artists.  The first one sells on eBay and goes by...The Pixies Thimble......here is a picture of her latest doll up for auction.  I love it.
Please go to eBay and take a look at all the pictures of this doll, it will amaze you and you will want her.  LOLOL   Isn't this doll awesome?
The second doll maker that is also a real talent is Homespun Hugs And Calico Kisses.  Here is her doll she has on eBay. You will fall in love with it, like I did.
These doll makers truely amaze me with their talent.  I sure wish I had half of their talent.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay..........here is a partial list of some of my favorite pattern designers......these gals are super great to work with and design awesome patterns. I will be adding to the list, so check back.

Homespun Heart
Soft In The Head
Country Stitches
Pineberry Lane Primitives
The Vintage Polka Dot
Mustard Seed Originals
Moonchild Primitives
Tennessee Ridge Primitives
Hill Kountry Kreations
Sweet Meadows Farm
Off The Beam

I think that's it for now. Look these gals up, and drool over their patterns.

Okay, I am off to try and organize my craft room and get ready to make some fall goodies. Maybe making fall goodies will help me to feel cool. I have been asked to do a big craft show in Illinois and I am thinking about it. I have done the big craft show here in Okahoma..The Affair of the Heart. It is a huge show and I did really, really well. But.......here is the question......do I want to go through all that hard work again and set up a booth, then take it all down again. I've done it and it's hard work, very hard. And some of you gals really put alot of work into your booths, and they look awesome, I am so envious. How do you all do it? When I did my craft shows, I thought I was so organized putting crafts in plastic containers, marking them, etc., then when I get to setting up my booth......OMG.....its stuff everywhere. LOLOL

So I am going to think about it. And jot down some ideas for setting up a booth and see how I feel. Part of me wants to do it, and part of me doesn't. We'll see which part wins out. LOLOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And in my previous blog post I mentioned about my hubby's last mission trip to Guatemala, well it was awesome.  He went on a medical mission and they were seeing patients and some were building a clinic.  Those poor people there didn't have running water or anything.  So our church raised funds to get them all they needed to hook up water for the clinic.  And while some of our church members helped with that, my hubby and some other docs went up into the mountains to see patients.  Do you know that some of these patients walked days to be seen.  My hubby said they were so apprecative of even a bandaid.  Makes me feel like a baby when I whine about waiting so long in a Dr's office.......and here these people walked days to be seen.  My husband cried like a baby when he got home and was telling me about it.  He said he went there to serve and take care of them, but they ended up giving him far more than he gave them.
He said they were all invited to one of the Guatemalans home for dinner one evening.  He said when they got there the family had moved all of their furniture out onto the road so they could set up makeshift tables to seat everyone.  Hubby said they had such pride on their faces and welcomed them all with open arms.  On the last day hubby and his team were there, they had communion......and hubby said he went up to take communion and looked out at the all the Guatemalan people sitting down.  He asked his interpreter why they weren't taking communion also.  The interpreter said they didn't have enough wine and bread for everyone to take communion and the Guatemalans wanted them to take their place and have it.  Now is that awesome or what?  Made me cry when hubby told me that.  We all take our lives for granted sometimes, me included, and yet there are people all over the world that have so very little, yet they have so much more than us spiritually.
On the day they were leaving to come back to the States an elderly Guatemalan woman came up to my hubby and handed him something wrapped in a tissue......hubby opened it and it was a beautiful beaded and jade necklace she had made herself and she wanted him to have it and give it to me.  I will cherish that necklace forever, and wear it church often to remind me of all the blessings I have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anyone, from San Diego...hubby has a medical meeting out there in October and I have never been and was wondering if there are any prims there? It's hard to find prims in certain states, I know, I've looked. Now if you go up to the New England states you prim lovers will think you've died and gone to heaven. LOLOL So many prim shops.

A friend and I went up to Searsport, Maine a few years back to take a rug hooking class at Searsport Rug Hooking and OMG she took me to so many prim places along the way. Living in Oklahoma.....you don't see many prims. LOLOL Lots of cowboy stuff, but no prims. We had her car filled to the roof with our prim goodies. Ah, that was a great time.

Okay, off I go. I will be posting more of my goodies up for sale soon. Been in the studio trying to work, but as the last days of summer and this heat run down, I am not into crafting, but just trying to stay cool. LOL

Until next time........God Bless

~~~~~~Takes All Kinds~~~~~~
PLEASE READ THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR AN UPDATE.
Oh my gosh, you guys have got to hear this.  Some of you will get a great laugh, and the others (you know who you are) will be ticked off.  LOLOL  Okay here goes............
About a week ago I decided to go through my more than 400 patterns that I have bought over the years because I did not make them, or want them anymore.  I also was trying to raise money for our church's upcoming mission trips. Those who know me, know my hubby and I go on Mission Trips with our church.  Hubby's last trip was to Guatemala....up in the mountains......oh that's another story.   Anyway......I only had one of each pattern I was selling, they were not copies.  Once they sold, that was it, there were no more of that pattern.  Well I got permission from several of the pattern designers to sell the pattern, they were so nice about it.  But........OMG......then came the designer from hell.  LOLOL  She emailed me and said I couldn't sell her pattern.  Okay, fine.  But she didn't ask me to remove it from eBay or report me to eBay as she said she could.  She said she could understand me selling it if it was the original (it was) and I only had one (I did).  I said fine, no problem.  I have the emails from her to prove this is what she said.  Well.....then her psycho "best friend" whom I guess has not a thing to do begins to email me with nasty, nasty emails on her friend the pattern designers behalf.  She called me all kinds of names, threatened to watch me and my sales, contacted other pattern designers (the ones I got permission from) and tell them I was selling "mass patterns".  I have never, ever, sold a pattern up till last week.  My eBay feedback, which you can look up, clearly shows that.  Anway........as if the nasty emails from Samantha Heinrich Anderson weren't enough.....she proceeds to bid on my auctions sending the prices sky high, with no intention of paying.  Running up the price so no one else would bid and then retracting the bid at the last minute so they wouldn't sell.  And then people were saying I was selling this pattern so high.  I am not as dumb as she thinks I am and I blocked her from bidding, and then cancelled her bids.  I didn't care if I made $2.00 from each pattern, it was going to the church, not me.  I don't craft as a business, I do it for fun.  Then when I blocked dear, dear Samantha, she went into ebay under another name and bid again.  Only this time........you're gonna love this........she used the name "nevergonnacatchmehahaha".  OMG how obvious.  I have reported her to eBay as well.  Now I think this gal Samantha is a psycho and should be put on meds.  Just my opinion.  When I contact the designer of the pattern in question......which by the way is....VEENAS MERCANTILE..aka: Kim Kohler, and told her what her friend was doing, she stated to me "I am proud that my friends stick up for me".  Wow, now that is such an honest and classy person, is it not?  So I guess she condons doing something like bogus bidding. Not someone I'd want to do business with.
The pattern designer is Kim Kohler from VEENAS MERCANTILE....and from the emails I have gotten from other people who have had dealings with her, she is quite the gal.  LOL  She is so concerned with me selling her pattern but she is the same pattern designer who sold her patterns to Bethany Lowe who inturn sends it to China to have them make it.  And after all us smucks bought her patterns they are now making her dolls from her patterns in China at a cheap price and listing them on eBay.  All of us doll crafters know if its Made in China we can't compete with the price.  So basically those of us who bought her patterns, got screwed.  All Kim Kohler had to do was ask me nicely to remove her pattern, and I would have gladly done it, no problem at all.  But she didn't.  I guess she is just insecure in her business to feel threatened by little old me selling a pattern.  LOLOLOL  She and her friends have taken to Facebook to slam me with lies but I wouldn't expect anything less from them.  She and Samantha may have bullied and intimidated other people, but that doesn't work on me.
Lies have even been spread that I have re-sold alot of patterns.  Not true.  This past week was the first time I ever listed patterns and they were the ones I bought.......not copies and I have never, ever re-sold a pattern that I had already sold.  Anyone with half a brain can go to eBay and check my seller feedback to see what I have and have not sold.
There are a group of us doll makers on Yahoo and I have shared ALL the emails I have received with them, and they are as appalled as I am. So we have started to compile a list of doll pattern designers who WE WILL NOT BUY PATTERNS FROM.  Here are two that I will never buy from nor make anything from their patterns I have now:
Veenas Mercantile----Kim Kohler
Old Road Primitives
The other gals in my group are working on more names to add to this list andI will post them when I get them and have a minute.
And here are the sweetheart pattern designers whom I emailed and they gave me permission.  Thanks goes out to them.  When their patterns sell, I won't sell anymore out of consideration for them:
Homespun From The Heart---Sharon
Moonchilds Primitives---Donna
Country Stitches Online---Brenda
I can highly recommend those gals as I have bought alot of their patterns and made them and they are the best.
This whole mess could have been avoided when something as simple as a "would you please remove my pattern, I don't want you to sell it" would have sufficed.  But noooooooooo we have a pattern maker that is so full of herself she thinks she is the second coming.  LOLOLOL
And believe me I do understand how very hard some of the pattern designers work to put out their patterns and when people "mass sell" copies and copies of their patterns, I'd be ticked to.  And I take full responsibility for not asking Kim Kohler first before I listed her pattern.  She had her chance to ask me to remove it after she contacted me, but she didn't.  I had one original pattern and no more.......I somehow don't think that would put any pattern designer out of business.  I know some of you won't agree with me and that is fine.  This country is great because no two people agree at one time.  And I also know that most of us have bought patterns on eBay from those other than the designers, you can admit it, I won't tell.  LOLOLOL
So I will say to Kim from Veenas Mercantile...and to her best bud Samantha.......GET OVER YOURSELVES"  You two aren't as important as you think you are.
I am sure I will get nasty posts to this, as some of Kim's friends have already posted nasty things on this blog......but that's no problem, they are easy to delete.
So what I am going to do with any of the VEENAS MERCANTILE AND OLD ROAD PRIMITIVES patterns that I have left is offer them for free along with other patterns I am selling.  Yeppers.......FREE....I'll give the suckers away, I don't care.  I will post on here when I list them, or you can search for me under Mustard*moon*primitives on eBay.  I have one up for auction now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

OMG.........I just received a copy of what Kim Kohler and her friends have posted about me on her Facebook page.......OMG......what lies and ugly, vicious, things they said about me. All of it, lies. I have the cold, hard copy of all they said and I don't understand how a so called "artist" could be like that. She is so mean and ugly. All because I sold her pattern......once. I have more class in my little finger than Kim Kohler will ever have. There is a comment from her about how she laughed and laughed when her friend Samantha drove up the price of my auction and wasn't going to pay. Now I ask you...........is that classy or what. No wonder she has to sell her designs to someone who makes them in China. I am passing out the Facebook comments from them all to all my doll making friends and doll designers so they can see that none of what they said I did, was true. I guess Kim Kohler is just insecure in her personal and professional life that she has to try and slander other people to make herself look good. How Sad. And she is gonna sue me for Defamation.....I don't think so. Not with what I read.

P.S. Just as I suspected, there were nasty posts from frick and frack, who are friends of Kim Kohler's. DUH......like I didn't see that coming. I am going to put a hold on the comment section of this post, only because I am over this situation and won't comment any further. I am not in 6th grade and am not going to play their childish games.

P.P.S. Now I am getting nasty emails from Veenas Mercantile threatening me with a defamation suit. How can it be defimation if its all true and you can back up what you have said with emails. LOLOL Such juveniles.

Prim Blessings

~~~~~I'm Melting, I"m Melting~~~~~~
It's a hot time in the old town tonight.  LOL  We have had a wicked summer so far.  We've had temps as high as 112 here in Oklahoma.  We will become the Oklahoma Desert before long.  It was 109 today and the weatherman says it will be like this until a week from this Tuesday and possibly beyond.  Can you say "Hello Alaska".  LOL  Worse part is we've not had any rain in weeks and weeks.  My grass is crunchy when you walk on it.  My flowers for the most part have gone capooey.  Managing to hang onto my small garden and herbs.  But I'm sure they won't last much longer.
Speaking of gardens I have my mouth set on a tomato sandwich.  Yummmmm I love tomato sandwiches on fresh, soft white bread with salt and pepper and gobs of mayo.  You could give ma a grocery bag full of home grown tomatoes and a salt shaker and I would be set for the day.  LOLOL  I have a few green tomatoes in the garden, but not ripe yet.  I could make fried, green tomatoes, love those to.  But am sitting in my lawn chair watering the tomato plants and living for the minute I see red on them.  LOLOL
Haven't done to much crafting as my craft room is upstairs in the attic and boy does it get hot in there.  I have a window unit in there and 3 fans going, but whoever built this house didn't do much in the way of insulation up there.  And there is no way to add it now, unless we rip the roof off.  So will have to settle for doing some stitching downstairs where I keep it like a freezer.  LOLOL  I am sooooooooooo waiting for fall, hope we have one.  Would love to apply for a job in an ice factory.  Wow, that would be awesome.  Although they wouldn't have much ice to sell as my hot butt would be sitting on the bags of ice and melting them.  haaaaaa
Even my Yorkies......Winnie, Tigger and Asha are pooped out from the heat.  They lay in front of the fans.  LOLOL  And drink lots of water.  I open the back door to let them out and they look at me as if to say....."no way, lady, we aren't going out there".  Don't really blame them.
I have my selling blog all ready to go, now if I can just get in the craft room and whip up some prim goodies to list on it.  Will let you all know as soon as I get something on it.  I am missing crafting. It was an awesome trip.  The resort was to die for.  I got my beach fix for sure.  There was a cool swim up pool bar in the Infinity pool.  Can you guess where I spent my time.  LOLOL  There was soooooooooo much food there.  They had a great Italian restaurant and a French restaurant at the resort as well as 4 other restaurants.  So you didn't go hungry.  They had 3 swimming pools, live bands, fantastic Island Drinks.
For my birthday my hubby set up a romantic birthday dinner under the stars.  We had a private candle lit table on the pier over the ocean, with yummy lobster.  It was so cool.  I think I will keep hubby.  LOLOL
The staff at the resort was so awesome.  They decorated my bedroom there in balloons and rose petals as well as a birthday banner on the door.  And they greeted us with champayne.  Awesome.
I have posted some pics below and have more to load on the computer.  Will share when I get them done.
It was a great birthday trip and we will definately be going back again, real soon.  Can you say........relaxing.  LOL  I am tan and rested.
Now it is time to get back to the real world.  Nooooooooooo  I sure missed my babies.  Winnie, Tigger and Asha sure were glad to see us.  I didn't have to board them for this trip......my son watched them and took very good care of them.  Thanks Chris.  Now I am going to have to spoil them like crazy to make up for being gone.  LOL
Our pool is open and I have been playing the mad chemist since getting back getting all the clorine levels and PH levels back to normal.  When they first uncovered the pool it was so green, looked like the Swamp Thing lived in there.  Water temp is 78 so it's ready for me to take my first plunge of the summer.  Ahhhhhhhhh  That is where you will find me most of the summer.  If I could figure out how to do laundry, cook and clean from the pool I'd never get out.
I want to take the time to wish all my family and friends a wonderful and safe Memorial Day.  I hope you all have fun and relax.  Till next time....
~~~~Happy May 16th All~~~~~

I have been lagging behind in my posts, sorry about that. Wanted to pop in and say hey and let you know what all I have been up to. First off I have two new dolls on Simply Primitives.....Libby and Sammie, if you want to take a peek. www.simplyprimitives.com and just look for Mustard Moon Primitives. Miss Libby and Sammie were so much fun to make.

SORRY.........MISS LIBBY HAS BEEN SOLD.

~~~~~Sorry........Sammie has been sold.~~~~~
I'm also getting ready to go to the Dominican Republic to celebrate my big "60" birthday.  I am so excited.  We were going to go in June but hubby had a scheduling conflict so we are going May 21stl.  I plan on being on the beach the whole time, well that and eating.  LOL  I will be sure to post pics when I get back, that is if I come back.  May decide to be a 60 year old beach bum.  haaa
Speaking of birthdays........I thought this one would do me in, but ya know what, it's not bothering me at all.  A few months ago, my brother was hit by a car and was in very serious condition.  That kind made me think and adjust my priorities ya know.  You just never know what's around the bend so you'd better enjoy the straight road while ya can.  I made up my mind, no more negativity, or having negative people around me.  I want to laugh, have fun and enjoy my life.  No friendships with conditions, no family problems or family fights getting to me.......just peace and love.  I sound like the 60's generation don't I.  I'm not changing for anyone and if people don't love me for me......then seeeeeeeeee yaaaaaaaaaa.  LOL
Oh don't get me wrong, I love my friends and family, but sometimes they can be toxic.  Friends who want to only be friends if you do it their way and don't love you for who you are, faults and all.  I have friends whom I love very dearly and I don't talk to every day or week or month, and some I haven't seen in ages, but I know they are there, and they know I am here if they need me. That is true friend.  Anyway..........Oh and speaking of friends I have a friend I met on a crafts forum and she is from Ireland.... waving hi to Ro.  She is so funny and hubby and I are planning a trip to Ireland next year and Ro is keeping a pub seat warm for me.  Thanks Ro.  Can't wait to see Ireland as both me and hubby are Irish.  Planning on having a pint or two of Guinness.
I have planted my garden and we've had tons of rain so it's doing pretty well so far.  Of course the heat and humidity of Oklahoma hasn't set in yet. I planted tomatoes, cukes, green and red peppers, jalapenos and strawberries.  Also planted an herb garden with basil, rosemary, sage, chives, Italian oregano, and parsley. When I'm out tending the herbs and the wind blows it smells heavenly.
My little Tigger hasn't been feeling to well lately, and he has needed me to hold him and scratch his tummy.  Vet said it's just a tummy virus and he'll be fine in a day or two.  They are like kids, you hate when they aren't feeling good and they can't tell you whats wrong.  He is my lover and sticks to mommy like glue.  Hate when he is feeling yucky.  Here is a pic of him on my bed with his sister Asha..she's the one with her tongue hanging out. LOL
Well that's it for today.  Hope all my friends and family are doing fantastic today and remember:
"As you slide down the banister of life.....may all the splinters be pointing in the opposite direction". Went to church and listened to an awesome sermon.......it so hit home.  Then hubby took me out to lunch.  While at the retaurant saw a sad thing happen.  A gentleman (using the term losely here) had given a waitress a hard time.  Not sure of all the details but she started crying and ran to the bathroom.  I felt so bad for her.  I know I have been impatient with waiters/waitresses a time or two but for some reason I felt this poor young gals pain.  So when we were leaving, I went up to her and told her she didn't know me but could I give her hug.  She smiled and said yes.  I told her it would pass and hang in there.  I just felt the need to do that.  So many of rush around wrapped up in our own little dramas that we forget others have bad days to.  I hope if I"m ever in the need of a hug, someone comes up to me and gives me one of theirs.  Sooooooooooo I am giving all my friends, readers and family members big ole hugs today ((((((((((((everyone))))))))))))).......there....did ya feel it?  LOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now I sit here typing and I should be in my craft room creating or something. LOL I've made some attempt to get my craft room organized.....haaaaaaaaa.......like that is ever gonna happen. But I did make a dent in it. I had alllllll these magazines that have really accumulated over the years and heck I didn't know what was in half of them. So I got a bunch of notebooks and those sheet protectors..the kind you can slip stuff inside of them. I went through all the magazines and tore out only those articles, patterns I wanted and slipped them into the sheet protectors and put them in notebooks. Wow.........did I get rid of alot of magazines. And my bookshelf is somewhat organized now. So that made me feel like I have accomplished something. Now..........if only I could do that with alllll this fabric I have. I just can't get it organized like I want to. Right now I have them in clear plastic containers according to colors, but I still can't find anything. LOL Wish I could come up with a way to organize my fabric so I can see each piece I have so I don't have to root through containers. Hummmmmmm maybe it will come to me. But it's been somewhat fun cleaning and organizing the craft room.........I've found things I didn't even know I had. LOL It's been like Christmas......opening all these boxes and containers and finding all kinds of goodies. When I get the craft room all done, I will post a pic and show you my results. That is if I'm not to old and decrepped by then. LOLOL Till then...happy crafting....and remember to share a hug. I joined a group here in Oklahoma called OK Yorkie Rescue. They get Yorkies that have been abandoned, abused, neglected and come from those horrible puppy mills. We foster them till they are adopted to their forever homes. I have two Yorkies of my own......Winnie and Tigger....their pic is over on the right side of this blog. They aren't to thrilled when I get a new baby to foster, but they go with the flow. I've had 3 Yorkies that I fostered and went to their forever homes. It's sad when that happens, cause I miss them, but on the other hand it's so gratifying to see them wag their tales and give kisses to their new families.

The last Yorkie I was to foster was Asha. She was so abused. She only has one tooth and her little pink tongue hangs out all the time, she had a big tumor on her back, her hair was all long and matted, and when I would set her down she would just stand in one spot forever and just shake. Needless to say, she never did get put up for adoption, she stayed with us. I just couldn't put her through any more trauma. We had her tumor removed, had her hair cut off, and had the vet get her up to date with all her shots, etc. The vet thinks she is about 8 years old, we don't know for sure. She just had a very rough life. She is the sweetest little thing and has really changed. She runs around and plays and sticks to me like glue.

I don't know how people can abuse animals and Lord help them if I ever get a hold of them. I made this the other day when it was snowing and then made some homemade bread in my bread machine to go along with it. It was yummy. Soup is so easy to make. I love it.

BAKED POTATO SOUP

Ingredients:
3 pounds red potatoes
1/4 cup margarine, melted
1/4 cup flour
8 cups half-and-half
16 ounces Velveeta cheese, melted
White pepper, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 pound bacon, fried crisply
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup fresh chives, chopped
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Directions:

Dice unpeeled red potatoes into 1/2-inch cubes. Place in a large Dutch oven, cover with water and bring to a boil. Let boil for 10 minutes or until 3/4 cooked.

In a separate large Dutch oven, combine melted margarine and flour, mixing until smooth. Place over low heat and gradually add half-and- half, stirring constantly. Continue to stir until smooth and liquid begins to thicken.

Add melted Velveeta. Stir well. Drain potatoes and add to cream mixture. Stir in pepper, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce.

Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Place soup into individual serving bowls and top with crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, chives and parsley.

This recipe serves/makes 10

HELLO FROM COLD AND FROZEN OKLAHOMA!

It's been much to long since I've posted on my blog. Time just goes so fast anymore. Here it is February already. Geesch, where did January go. Anyway, I am going to make a big attempt to get back blogging on a regular basis (crossing my fingers here). I am still new to blog land so bear with me while I attempt to do this blog.

Our weather the past few days has been downright nasty. I live in Southern Oklahoma and we got hit with some nasty weather. We got two inches of ice and on top of that, we got 4 inches of snow. Slammed us pretty good. I ventured out today to get my hair cut...........ladies you know nothing will keep us from our hairdresser. LOLOL The roads were shere ice........I did some slipping and a sliding, but managed to make it. I love winter (stop throwing stones at me) but this weather is rough. We went down to -10 below the other night and our furnace ran and ran. Can you say.......HELLO HI ELECTRIC BILL.

Anyway, I am starting to get back in the crafting mood again...slowly.......but I'm getting there. It's hard to get in a crafting mood when it's so dreary out. But I'm thinking "Sring" and going for it. I am a member of Simply Primitives, so be sure and stop by there and see what goodies I have up for sale.

Am going to make a big old pot of Loaded Baked Potato Soup. It sounds perfect on a day like this. I'm drinking some warm cider as I sit here and type. Gotta warm up somehow.

Hope you all are warm and not having to cold of a day.

~Taking a Breather~

Well.....the bad storms and tornados have passed for now. Good old Oklahoma. Now it is just hot and humid and time to get in the pool. Been planting flowers and taking care of the pool, so now it is my time to rest.

I will be celebrating a birthday this Sunday. Why do we celebrate old age???? LOLOL I tell myself that I am old and my body is now telling me the same thing. Seems like each day I get up, I have a new creek somewhere.

Also.....wanted to let you all know that I am in the process of re-opening my website and will keep you posted on that. In the process of making some new goodies. My son is in the shop whipping up some awesome prim wooden pieces. He is soooooo talented, if I must say so myself. LOLOL

Well......off I go to get in trouble. Have a great weekend all.

~My One And Only~

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vMetoqu5swQ/S9XdDG2I39I/AAAAAAAAACE/t-yNMcG72hE/s320/100_1271.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5464516768330997714" />
This handsome dude is my son Chris. He is my Christmas baby. He was born Christmas night. Each year I try to give him back to Santa, but alas Santa won't take him back. LOLOLOL

We have gone through tough times together and times when I thought he was gone from my life forever, but we always manage to hang in there with the good Lord's help. He has moved to Oklahoma and has been such a big help to me. He is an awesome carpenter and has built me a prim pantry among many other things. He has so many talents I never knew he had, and I think maybe he didn't know he had. His best friend is Bruno, his dog. Bruno is a Pit Bull who thinks he is a Yorkie. LOLOL He is the most lovable, sweet, and smart dog I've known, and he gets along so well with my three Yorkies. Chris and Bruno make a great team. I love ya "kid".

A Prim Folkart Wall Gathering

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vMetoqu5swQ/S8zuB8xsQCI/AAAAAAAAABU/X1rOfDBqvas/s320/100_1283.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462002165355397154" />

This gathering is one of my new pieces. It is made from very old barnwood that I painted, distressed and stained. The bottom of this wall group is an old bowl that I cut in half and painted it to match. On the front of the wall board is a needlepunch of a saltbox house, done by me.

Inside the bowl are some chunks of handmade lye soap, a bundle of dried Sweet Annie, an old blue ticking pillow case, and I mean old. Also included is a black beeswax candle with the flicker tealight. I have wrapped old paper around it with string. I have tucked some old tobacco cloth in the bowl as well as a few dried flowers.

I am showing this piece hanging above my fireplace, but it can sit on a table as well.

The price for this prim goody is $35.00....which does not include shipping. Please email me your mailing zip code and I will get back to you with shipping charge.

SO SORRY THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD.

Welcome Prim Lovers

Hi and welcome to my blog.
